Westside Coalitions

Westside Service Providers Network
This non-partisan network of organizations serving children, families, adults and seniors has been meeting on Vancouver’s Westside since the mid 1990s. The network plays a key role in the coordination of community services and development of agency partnerships. Our purpose is to share information about community services available to Westside residents, to work together enhance services, and to take action on common concerns. We meet five times per year. Youth Networking Table
The Westside Youth Networking table meets three times a year to share information, network, and collaborate on initiatives that will support youth, those working with youth and youth leaders. For more information contact Jenn Longson at Kitsilano Neighbourhood House: 604-736-3588.

Westside Seniors Empowerment Coalition
The coalition represents seniors living on Vancouver’s Westside. It is an umbrella group of individuals, community health providers, community organizations, churches, businesses, and agencies. The mandate is to promote healthy ageing through physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. We meet four times per year and maintain an electronic newsletter about Westside seniors’ events. Westside Literacy Task Force
This is a community wide initiative to promote literacy and learning in our community. Literacy helps people share ideas, find information and learn new things so that they can function well in their community and reach their personal goals. The Westside Literacy Community Plan will focus on the neighbourhoods of Kitsilano, Arbutus Ridge and parts of Point Grey/ UBC Endowment Lands. Funding is provided my 2010 Legacies. Westside Food Security Collaborative
The Westside Food Security Collaborative is a neighbourhood group working on food issues on the Westside. The group is made up of service providers and community members. We meet monthly and welcome new members.
